Gambling is a form of entertainment you pay for — not a way to earn money and not a way to win back what has already been lost. This page collects what actually helps keep it under control.
The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) runs a free national helpline on 1800-6-668-668. It is confidential and it is open to family members as well as to players. The NCPG also administers Singapore’s exclusion orders, and the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS) at the Institute of Mental Health provides assessment and treatment.
Singapore’s exclusion orders — self-exclusion, family exclusion and third-party exclusion — apply to the licensed gambling operators in Singapore. TikiTaka operates under Anjouan + PAGCOR (24-0021) and is not among them, so a national exclusion order does not reach it. With an offshore operator, exclusion has to be requested inside that operator’s own account. Differences like this one are exactly why licensing weighs on our rating.
Each of these is worth taking seriously: playing with money meant for something else; playing to win back a loss; hiding the playing from people close to you; needing larger stakes to feel the same thing; feeling that the result, rather than a plan, decides when you stop.
The mathematics here is not ambiguous and is worth knowing: the house edge applies to every next bet, so continuing in order to recover a loss increases the expected loss rather than reducing it — in any game and at any stake.
Gambling in Singapore is for people aged 21 and over. If a device is shared with someone younger, block gambling sites with a parental filter and do not leave a session signed in.
21+. Play responsibly. Gambling can be addictive.
